THE WALLIS ANNENBERG CENTER
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER TO OPEN FALL 2013
Opening in the fall of 2013, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts will transform a Beverly Hills city block into a vibrant new cultural destination with two distinct, elegant buildings: the treasured historic Beverly Hills Post Office and a new, contemporary 500-seat, state-of-theart Goldsmith Theater. Together the venues will elegantly embrace the city’s history and its future, creating a new landmark. Within the treasured Post Office, existing spaces will be reimagined into a flexible 150-seat Studio Theater, three classrooms for a theater school for young people, a café, and gift shop. The beautiful marble-clad Grand Hall will serve as the main lobby to the Annenberg and a grand staircase will descend from the historic building into the adjoining 500-seat theater lobby where visitors can experience a beautiful sunken sculpture garden, elegant landscaping and a promenade terrace. Located in the heart of the city’s finest shopping and dining, the Annenberg will serve Beverly Hills and Greater Los Angeles and be a home to artists from around the world.A subterranean, three-level parking garage operated by the City of Beverly Hills opened last November to provide parking for the Annenberg’s future patrons and visitors to Beverly Hills. SPF Archtects under the direction of Zoltan Pali have been commisisoned to design manage the construction of the project.
