LAGERFELD’S MON SHU GIRL
Who knew that for years Karl Lagerfeld has been dipping his fingers into the velvety powdered pigments of Japanese skincare and cosmetics brand Shu Uemura to create some of his most well known fashion sketches? And to celebrate the King of Couture’s passion for their rich and intense colours a partnership was forged with Uemura to create a holiday collection which is nothing less than “kawaii”. Inspired by contemporary art, traditional Japanese culture, and his desire to create his own personal manga character, Karl has launched Mon Shu- an adorable new super hero of beauty outfitted in the designer’s iconic black and white uniform and spreading holiday sparkle and the power of glamorous transformation. Central to the Holiday 2012 collection are two distinct eye and cheek palettes featuring Shu Uemura’s pressed eye shadows and silky pink blushes- a smoky version featuring glittering black and deep khaki accented by mint green and light silver and a lush Bordeaux inspiration coupled with intense purple and deep warm chocolate brown. The collection is complemented by an array of elegant lipsticks, flamboyant red crystal studded false eyelashes special nail stickers that add just a touch of kooky to this ultra-sophisticated wardrobe of colour. Shu Uemura is sold exclusively online at the brand’s official website.
