To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the first Chanel Jewelry collection of 1932, 80 distinct pieces have been created including this series in gold, diamond, and rock crystal inspired by the same astrological sign as Mademoiselle. Fascinated by the brilliance and purity of the diamond of which she wrote, “its density represents the greatest value for the smallest size” she created a series of innovative and sumptuous jewels. The lastest collection has been divided into 5 specially themed groups including suns, shooting stars, and the Leo constellation.
The collection was recently presented along with vintage pieces from the orignal 1932 Collection at the 26th Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris. Organized by the French National Union of Antique Dealers, this year’s installment was designed by Karl Lagerfeld and featured 19th Century inspired Parisian Streets to showcase the 121 exhibitors. All the profits of the event will be given as a charitable donation to the Hôpitaux de France whose patron is Bernadette Chirac, wife of former French President Jacques Chirac.
